You are what you…

I am a firm believer that the energy you put out into the world affects your entire life. If you lay around all day and procrastinate when you know you should be getting things done you will always feel like you are playing catch up. If you are someone who is a real go-getter you will always feel ahead of the game. The difference is you will be able to enjoy the free time you have if you work hardest.

I struggle with finding a balance between these two. There are weeks when I am go go go and I get so much done that I begin to think “what else can I do, let me keep doing doing doing” Then there are the weeks like last week, where the laundry piles up, the kitchen is a mess and the bags of recycling will always get taken out “tomorrow”. I decided that I need to develop good habits before I move into a house that will have over 1,000 more square feet for us to care for. I woke up, motivated and ready to begin working toward my goal. It was an easy goal to accomplish in one day– clean the whole house. This lofty goal quickly became focused on a total reorganization of my kitchen. Living in a two bedroom apartment means I have a rather small kitchen. With a new baby the “free” space has now been filled with bowls, bottles, high chairs and all that comes with a little cutie

I started by emptying everything from my fridge, freezer, pantry and counter tops and putting it all on the table. Everything got a good wipe down with my Trader Joes Multipurpose cleaner. This is a great household cleaner for literally any part of your home.

I love the clear organization bins for my refrigerator because they help keep everything in the place they should be and eliminate wasted space. Since my husband and I are also trying to lose weight it keeps us from holding on to foods we don’t need to be eating. I tried to organize everything so that the healthier options would be the first things I saw when opening the door.

My fridge after being organized.

Now we have a fridge that allows us to be organized, healthy and free from clutter.
